About Us
The Ambulance Wish Foundation fulfills approximately 2.000 wishes a year, and we have already fulfilled over 25.000. A driver and a nurse accompany each wish.
For this, we have a team of 350 volunteers, consisting of 125 drivers, 185 nurses, 11 promotional volunteers, 25 photographers, and 4 volunteers for general support services. Our drivers are from the police, fire department, ambulance, and defense. The group of nurses consists of care assistants, BIG-registered general or specialized nurses, and doctors with a professionally recognized education.
Our volunteers all go at least once or twice a month if they wish, and some go more often.
Without our fantastic volunteers we cannot fulfil all these wishes

What do we stand for?
Since 2007, the Ambulance Wish Foundation has been fulfilling the final wishes of (terminally) disabled patients. What started with one wish at a time has grown to fulfilling 7 to 10 wishes daily, throughout the Netherlands and sometimes even abroad. We take care of everything: from transportation to organization. This allows patients and their families to fully focus on what truly matters: creating memories together. And always free of charge.
Our work is made possible by over 300 passionate volunteers: drivers, nurses, and promotional volunteers, along with a small, close-knit salaried team (equivalent to 5 FTEs). In addition, our course is overseen by a volunteer board, who share the same passion for making the foundation's work possible. Their commitment and oversight ensure our continued professional growth while maintaining a warm, family-like atmosphere.
We can fulfill most wishes within one to two days, and even within an hour for urgent requests. Whether it's a one-time trip home, a visit to the beach, visiting a loved one, or a trip abroad, we'll arrange everything necessary to make your wish a reality.
Throughout the Netherlands
The Ambulance Wish Foundation distinguishes itself through its nationwide coverage: we serve patients throughout the Netherlands. With 10 purpose-built ambulances, our volunteers, and our team, we make countless wishes come true every day.
Transparent
We believe it's important to be open and transparent. That's why we share our fulfillment wishes daily on our website and social media, and we publish our annual report and financial policy online. As a recognized charity, we proudly carry the CBF quality mark and are a member of Goede Doelen Nederland (Dutch Charities). This means we meet the highest standards for care, reliability, and transparency. At the same time, we are always open to collaborating with other organizations and parties that share the same goal: making the impossible possible for people in the final stages of life.

Our Mission
The mission of the Ambulance Wish Foundation is to give every terminally ill, bedridden patient the attention he or she deserves, so that the patient does not have to die without one last wish being fulfilled. By experiencing this event, a little light may return to those final days for the patient themselves and their loved ones.
That's what we want to achieve. Adding quality of life to that final period, so that a small portion of the misery can be put aside for a while.
